How does a Paddle Flow Switch Work?
The working principle of a paddle flow switch is based on the impact force of the fluid on the paddle. When the fluid flows through the paddle flow switch. The paddle is impacted by the fluid and displaced. This displacement is converted into an electrical signal through a mechanical transmission mechanism. It triggers the switch action. A paddle flow switch usually consists of a target, a spring, a mechanical transmission mechanism, and an electrical switch. The shape and size of the paddle should match the characteristics of the fluid to ensure accurate flow measurement. The elastic coefficient of the spring and the accuracy of the mechanical transmission mechanism also affect the accuracy.
How do You Install a Paddle Flow Switch?
The flow switch should be installed on a straight pipe. There are at least 5 times the diameter of the straight pipe on both sides of it. When screwing the flow switch into the pipe tee, to prevent damage to the switch, it is not allowed to hold the housing for installation. The user must use a hexagonal wrench to hold the hexagon of the valve body for installation.
1. Open the flow switch housing.
2. The switch is set to approximately the minimum flow value when it leaves the factory. Increase the flow setting value and turn the adjustment screw clockwise①;
3. Press the target to check whether the micro switch is working properly. Excessive counterclockwise rotation of the adjustment screw may cause the flow switch to fail;
4. After installation, please check by pressing the flow switch lever several times. Once there is no “click” sound when the lever returns, turn the adjustment screw forward until there is a “click” sound when it returns;
5. It is forbidden to remove the screw fixing clip②, otherwise it will cause the flow adjustment screw to fail;
6. The paint-sealed adjustment screw③ is only for factory adjustment of the flow switch state. Do not change or adjust;
7. Three working cycles should be observed. Ensure the switch operates normally. And the switch housing should be covered in time.
