Brass/SS Piston Inline Flow Switch 200bar

The Piston Inline is used for liquid or gaseous media. It is available in a rugged brass or stainless steel housing. It has a switch setting scale, which does not require user settings on-site. LEDs indicate the switch status. Dual switch outputs are available. It is used for liquids, gases and oils.

Piston Inline Flow Switch Introduction

A piston with a permanent magnet is installed in the fluid channel inside the flow switch housing. When the piston is pushed by the pressure difference caused by the liquid flow, the magnetic piston drives the sealed magnet inside the device to switch. The diameter of the piston determines the starting flow. When the liquid flow decreases, the stainless steel spring pushes the piston back. When the reed switch is actuated, an alarm or indication can be transmitted remotely. Sturdy plastic, aluminum or stainless steel housings are available.

The piston inline flow switch contains a precision spring-supported magnetic piston that pushes the piston backward. The magnetic piston triggers an external micro switch or reed switch. An optional pointer flow meter head to display instantaneous flow. An optional digital flow meter head to display instantaneous flow. Output analog or switch signal.

How do you troubleshoot a Flow Sensor?

The following are the causes and solutions of sensor failure

1. Sensor damage

If the flow sensor is damaged and cannot detect the water flow normally, a new sensor needs to be replaced.

Replacing the sensor requires professional technicians. It is recommended to contact the after-sales service or the manufacturer’s maintenance engineers for replacement.

2. Waterway blockage

Solve the problem by cleaning the waterway.

Users can remove the water pipe of the water heater and flush the waterway with water. Then install it back.

3. External line failure

Such as short circuit, open circuit or virtual connection. Professionals are required to check and repair the line to ensure normal signal transmission.

4. Sensor failure

Such as hot wire or hot mold damage, pollution or control circuit failure.

Damaged parts need to be replaced and the sensor needs to be kept clean and intact.

5. ECU failure

Power supply problems or circuit grounding failures may be caused by poor heat dissipation, water ingress or component damage.

The circuit board needs to be checked and repaired to ensure its normal operation.

6. Abnormal voltage

Use a multimeter to measure the output voltage of the sensor, which should be 5 volts under normal circumstances.

When air is blown into the sensor, the voltage should change with the flow rate. If the voltage does not change, the sensor may need to be replaced.

7. Mixture adjustment problem

Too lean or too rich a mixture may cause unstable engine idle speed, weak acceleration, increased fuel consumption and abnormal exhaust.

The ratio of the mixed gas needs to be adjusted.

Thermal flow switches:

Measure the flow rate by the temperature difference between two sensing elements, one is heated and the other measures the ambient temperature. The greater the flow rate, the smaller the temperature difference.

Target flow switch:

The water flow pushes the reed piece to drive the micro switch. However, the installation requirements are high and it is easily affected by the water flow, and the target piece may break.

Differential pressure flow switch:

The pressure drop generated when water flows through the heat exchanger is used to detect the water flow state. It is easy to install and the flow control is accurate.

Baffle flow switch: The mechanical part is safely isolated from the electronic part. It does not contain bellows that are prone to failure and is suitable for a variety of occasions.
