Digital Rotary Torque Sensor Introduction

What is torque?

Torque is an important parameter of rotary power machinery. Torque measurement is widely used in various industrial fields. such as automobiles, ships, aerospace, electric locomotives, energy, and chemicals. Correct torque measurement guarantees product development, condition monitoring, fault identification and prediction, automatic control, energy saving, and power balance indication.

Torque Sensor is also called a torque transducer, torque meter. It is divided into two categories: dynamic and static. Among them, a dynamic torque sensor can also be called a torque sensor, a non-contact torque sensor, a rotary torque sensor, etc.

A torque sensor detects torsional torque perception on various rotating or non-rotating mechanical parts. A torque sensor converts the physical change of torque into an accurate electrical signal. A torque sensor can be used in the manufacture of a viscometer, electric (pneumatic, hydraulic) torque wrench.

More Detail

What is a Rotary Torque Sensor?

Rotary torque sensor, also known as rotary torque transmitter. It is a sensor used to measure the torque generated by a rotating object during operation.

These sensors convert mechanical quantities into electrical signals. Rotary torque sensors can accurately monitor the performance of rotating mechanical equipment.

How does a Torque Sensor Work?

1. Strain sensor: Use strain gauges to sense the deformation of an elastic shaft when it is twisted. The torque is indirectly reflected by the change in resistance value.

2. Magnetoelectric sensor: Based on the principle of electromagnetic induction. Non-contact measurement of torque is achieved by measuring the change of the magnetic field on the rotating part.

3. Photoelectric sensor: Utilizes the photoelectric effect or fiber optic sensing technology.

4. Non-contact sensor: Such as a sensor based on the magnetoelastic effect. Torque is detected by measuring the change in magnetic characteristics. It is non-contact with the rotating part.
