What is the difference between a temperature sensor and a temperature transmitter?

A temperature sensor is a device that senses temperature and converts it into a usable output signal. It typically uses thermistors, thermocouples, semiconductors, and other devices to measure temperature and directly converts the measured temperature into an electrical signal for output.

A temperature transmitter, on the other hand, converts temperature signals into a standard electrical signal. It uses temperature measuring elements such as thermocouples and RTDs. After a series of circuit processing, it converts the signal into a current or voltage signal that is linearly proportional to the temperature.

Is there a way to monitor temperature remotely?

We can use a split-type temperature transmitter for remote temperature monitoring. Split-type temperature transmitters have separate measuring devices and display components.

We can also connect a pressure transmitter to a PLC system for remote data monitoring.

Another method for remote temperature monitoring is using a paperless recorder. A paperless recorder can be connected to a pressure transmitter to display a real-time temperature curve.
