Pulley Torque Sensor Applications

Scientific research and laboratory

In robot joint torque detection and precision instrument development. Pulley Torque Sensor supports multi-dimensional data acquisition. It provides key input for motion control algorithms.

Industrial automation and mechanical testing

Dynamic performance testing of motors, reducers, and drive shafts. It monitors torque changes in real time.

Vehicle dynamics control

Auxiliary wheel-side motors achieve precise vector torque distribution. The wheel speed and torque output are adjusted in real time through algorithms to improve handling stability (such as turning in place, anti-slip compensation, etc.).

More Detail

Pulley Torque Sensor Basic Structure

The core of the Pulley Torque Sensor is the slip ring assembly. It contains multiple individual components. Together, these components make up the function of the sensor. The assembly includes the rotor, the stator (which remains stationary), and the brushes. They transmit signals through the rotating interface. The slip ring assembly plays an important role. The electrical connection is maintained without affecting the torque being measured.

Working Principle of Pulley Torque Sensor

Pulley Torque Sensor works by detecting the torsional deflection. Torsional deflection is caused by the application of torque in the rotating system. When mechanical torque is applied to the sensor’s shaft, the strain gauge embedded in the assembly deforms in proportion to the torque. The deformation changes the resistance of the strain gauge, allowing for accurate measurement.

As the shaft rotates, the brushes and slip rings maintain continuous electrical contact. Electrical data and signals are transmitted even during continuous rotation. This process enables the sensor to provide real-time, accurate torque measurement. It is regardless of the rotation speed.

Converting mechanical strain into electrical signals is the basis. The measured data is amplified, resulting in a stronger output signal.
